– Yesterday was a stereotypical Big City day. I got into work late, at 8 AM, stayed until 7 PM, walked about 2 miles through the Loop to the South Loop Club, where I grabbed an incredible Polish for dinner, then stepped next door to the Hot House for an evening of Japanese inflected Jazz and Blues.

I meant to start this awhile ago, but this is a turning point… Scavhunt’s over and Pentacost’s past. The Next Big Thing, as far as I can tell, is the wedding. And what better place to start than with the first album by my true loves and heroes of the past.

The following headlines made the front page of the Flint Journal‘s Sunday Edition this week, instead of a public housing debacle requiring immediate attention.

215 families are losing their housing subsidies they’ve already been promised due to mismanagement by the Flint Housing Commission (which does not even leave a phone number at which to be contacted).

– This Past Weekend. Friday, I got out of work early and headed back up north to get some things done around the apartment. Instead, I took a two hour nap, but woke up stress free, which was to be a major theme of the weekend.

– This has been a modest week, blogwise, both in terms of output and substance. I blame it on having caught the Post-Scavhunt Hacking Death Plague.

– Weathorr report: Nationally, it’s a little weird, if mostly unexciting can count as weird. The Canadian front that drew meek thunderstorms over Chicago yesterday morning will continue to move over the Appalachians and New England, causing general misery.

The last several days, I’ve expended so much energy on catching up at work, trying to chronicle Scavhunt, and shifting gears for the wedding and grad school that there honestly isn’t much to report. I’ve mostly failed at trying to catch up on sleep, and instead I think I’m coming down with a cold.

As Scavhunt Withdrawal sets in, things will gradually return to normal in the world at large and at Blue Skies Falling.
